Memorial Day Outdoor Games for Family + Friends

Bring the fun to your backyard this Memorial Day weekend with yard games for all ages. While you’re grilling up hotdogs and hamburgers, friends and family will be striking up friendly competition – and an appetite.

Here are a few of our favorite backyard games.

Wild Gate Sports Stars and Stripes Cornhole Tailgate Toss

You can’t beat a classic! Not only is cornhole a universally appealing game, it’s also easy to teach new or young players – less time teaching, more time playing. Plus, this set features a stars and stripes design that is perfect for your Memorial Day cookout and other events all summer long. Pull it out again later in the summer for the Fourth of July!

Baden Champions Series Croquet Sets

A croquet set is a summertime staple for backyards large and small. Designed for 2-6 players, we especially like how this set features hardwood mallets with soft rubber grips for comfort. It even comes with a complete croquet rulebook, perfect for new players or rusty ones.

Classic Ladderball Game

If you’re looking for a new backyard challenge, this ladderball game fits the bill. Friends and family will appreciate the easy learning curve to this game, but the extra skill involved to getting the golf tosses around the ladders.

These questions come from itsmamaxo.com. I didn't use all of her questions, just fyi.

Are you named after anyone?

Yes, my mom and my paternal grandmother.

When was the last time you cried?

This morning. It's been very stressful these days. The company I work for full-time was sold and so there's a lot going on with this acquisition. On top of that, Mr. LL's truck is an issue and my mom is recovering from shoulder surgery, not to mention that Lazy Baby seems to just stay sick these days. Sometimes, all this stress and anxiety just leaks out of my eyeballs.

Do you have kids?

Yes! My sweet Lazy Baby!

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

I think so, though I know me and me would have conflict from time to time because we'd both be so stubborn.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I used to, for sure. These days, I think I'm too tired to deal with it.

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

How well they speak and enunciate. If I have a hard time hearing/understanding you then I don't have time for you. And I am NOT referring to accents or those who consider English their second language, just to be clear.

What is your eye colour?

Brown. Bleh.

Scary movie or happy endings?

Both. They both have their place in my heart.

Favorite smells?

Fresh baked cookies, gardenias, sweet olive, honeysuckle and Hempz lotion (original).

What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?

I went to Italy after I graduated from high school.

Do you have any special talents?

I can cutout images in PhotoShop faster than you get your file opened. Ok, not really but I am the fastest and most precise at work.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies used to be: playing table top games, reading fiction, and pretending like I know how to craft. These days I don't really have time for my hobbies.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, three. Two cats (Cake and Mei-mei) and one dog (Bigby).

Do you have any siblings?

I do, an older brother.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

First, I wanted to be a veterinarian, but then I found out all the gross stuff you had to do, so I switched to dog groomer. But I can't stand the smell of those places, so I decided I'd be a horse trainer. Then I was considering psychology for a long time until I discovered graphic design. To get paid to be creative? Yes, please.

Who was your first best friend?

My first best friend was a girl who went to the same daycare as me, Jessica. I still remember eating figs and powered sugar in her back yard.

How tall are you?

5'2"-ish. 5'2" is my go-to answer, but I honestly don't know.

How many countries have you visited?

Two. Mexico and Italy.

What was your favorite/worst subject in High School?

Art class.

What is your Favorite drink?

Alcohol: Dark and stormy. Non-alcohol: Pepsi.

What is your Favorite animal?

Um...horse I guess? I love all animals.

What Sports do you play/Have you played?

I lettered in volleyball my freshman year of high school. Don't play any sports these days.

How would you describe your fashion sense?

Comfortable.

What phone do you have? (iOS v Android?)

iOS

Tell us one of your bad habits!

Stress eating and I've been doing a lot of it these days.

These songs are from my youth and I still love them. Thought I'd share them with you all and embarrass myself in the process. GOD I'M OLD. Honestly, I had to stop myself from making this a 5+ hour playlist. There will definitely be another TBT edition in the future.
